MAGAZINE MINOR TASK

Following my feedback blog on my magazine minor task, I made the changes that I was advised to make, in order to make my magazine as accurate as possible. I added my Instagram handle at the end, after having made my social media page already for my other minor task. I also changed my answer to question 2 to left align, as this falls in line with the norms of most magazines. I tried to make these changes as quickly as possible in order to complete my social media page as soon as possible. My final magazine product reflects as many norms of Marie Claire as possible, which has also allowed me to maintain a strong sense of branding throughout my minor tasks. My final magazine product required lots of research that allowed me to create as much of an accurate parody of Marie Claire magazines as possible.

LOCATION DIFFICULTIES

However, it was important that looking outside of the car windows, the location outside was scary and complied with the tone of fear comprised of my horror scene. Next time when I am filming for my opening scene, I intend for the location to play more of a role, hence I will be planning locations for my opening scene some time in advance and attempt a few shots in the location beforehand, to see what tone the location conveys over camera.

COSTUMING STOCK HORROR CHARACTERS

Costuming stock horror characters has broadened my knowledge of how simple costumes that are not just the costume for supernatural characters, can be very important and reflect massively on the tones of the film. Researching the typical stock horror characters has been very interesting as I now know how important it is to get colours and styles right for the characters, in order for them to be presented in a way that matches their personality. Equally, researching the descriptions of certain stock horror characters has been very eye-opening, as some of those values and descriptions, do not necessarily comply with what makes that character like that, therefore some clothing choices have been made redundant as time and societal values have changed. Later on, I hope to be more conscious of costuming clothes for more 'normal' characters, as this is crucial for the audience to relate to them, and for the characters's personalities to be properly presented through their clothes...
