After attempting to do some special effects makeup, to follow the gory conventions of most horror films, I have concluded that I will most likely include some sort of gory element to my future response to horror. Straying away from the traditional horror makeup that supports the supernatural aspects of horror, I wanted to portray a makeup attempt that attempted to reflect the realism I aim to portray in my future opening. Focusing on more of the blood and gore side of makeup, I feel as though I am allowing my future audience to feel more threatened by whatever antagonist I have in my opening, as the blood and gore poses the realist fact that likewise to the audience, the characters in my horror opening equally bleed, opening a whole new layer of realism, in which I hope to accompany by the setting etc.
