My critical question two focuses on how my product would engage with audiences and how it would be distributed as a real media text. My response to the second of the critical questions acknowledges who my target audience would be and their interests and hobbies. In accordance with my critical question one, I linked back to how my opening scene demonstrates social issues such as the female representation in horror. My opening scene demonstrates a highly dramatized and extreme representation of women, to highlight the detrimental stereotype, however my opening scene still abides by the stereotypical murder of females first in horror, appealing to the younger male audience. I have identified younger women as my opposed reader, as they would highly disagree with the way women have been represented in a 'modern' horror film. This establishes my audience, and equally allows for better marketing for my film, as it is creating talk-ability beyond one specific demographic. In addition, I have also addressed how I would distribute my horror opening scene as a real media text, in consideration of the Covid-19 pandemic. I disregarded the use of the cinema as a main export for my film, and highlighted my understanding of the growing popularity of streaming services.
