Todorov is a very prominent audience theorist, with his theory of equilibrium being a very common narrative story line in most film and TV shows. Todorov's theory can also be applied to documentary, as discussed in this short podcast I created. I referred to the documentary, 'All or nothing: Manchester City', as this contained some references to Todorv's equilibrium and disequilibrium. Researching Todorov and applying his theory to documentaries has allowed me to understand how important the narrative journey is still in documentaries, as the aim of the documentary is still to entertain the audience as well as educate them.
