After discussing some ideas for my interview and drafting some questions, I decided to research into interviews, more specifically how to conduct them and what makes a good interview. I looked at real life examples, and split them down into different categories, such as entertainment for celebrity interviews, and informational for news interviews. Most of the research I gathered suggested three very important factors of a good interview. The first one is always to make sure that as the interviewer, you are engaging with your interviewee and not reading off a script, asking questions in a methodical way. It is important to listen to your interviewee, which can give you the possibility to go off script, getting answers that you wouldn't have received without engaging. The second important factor, is to ensure that the interviewee repeats the question in their answer, as this will ensure that when editing, there will be no interference of the interviewer and the edit can run smoothly. Thirdly, it is important that you make the interviewee comfortable, so ensuring that you talk to them beforehand and comfort them is very important. Doing this research into interviews has made me more confident before conducting my own interview, as I feel able to ensure that I can get the best answer I can get from my interviewee.
