After researching Marie Claire magazine double pages, I decided to create my first response for my minor task. I created my response on Canva, as this allowed me to create a more realistic magazine format and be flexible with the positioning of any headers or titles. I kept a screenshot of a double page on my Canva that I constantly referred to in order to achieve an accurate parody of a Marie Claire magazine. I researched journalists for Marie Claire magazines and Anne Fulenwider seemed appropriate to refer to in my response, so I sourced her signature at the end of some of her magazine spreads to use in my magazine. Finding an appropriate photo for my magazine was difficult as I had to take a picture that reflected the typical photos of Marie Claire magazines and their values. The picture I stuck with demonstrated some references to identity and nationality that feature in my documentary as well as values that are similar to Marie Claire magazines. Answering my questions and creating them was equally challenging, as I had to phrase my questions and answers in ways that incorporated my media knowledge and theory. I equally struggled with narrowing down my answers in order to fit my magazine template. This is my first draft of my magazine, so I expect some feedback and then I will adapt my magazine from that feedback.
