PRODUCTION DIARY 15/02/22

Today, in preparation for editing my documentary I spent time managing all my videos and sorting them into a USB stick so I can transfer the videos to a school laptop that has access to Premier Pro. I originally created a very simple and brief plan for my editing in Da Vinci Resolve on my laptop, however it was necessary for me to edit my documentary in Premier Pro, hence I had to upload my videos onto a school laptop. Equally, I story-boarded ideas for how my documentary will look in terms of editing, and I have been considering types of cuts and transitions that will demonstrate improvement from my preliminary task. Once I had uploaded some videos onto Premier Pro, I realized I still had some footage missing, however I had reached the limit on my USB stick. I had to download the files onto my school computer and then re-download the missing files. This originally presented as an issue that set me back some time, however I adapted by permanently re-locating my footage onto the computer that has access to Premier Pro. I next hope to start editing and create a first draft by the end of the week. My first draft will need substantial improvement, so my main focus is to demonstrate my idea of how I want my documentary to look, and then receiving feedback and editing it in more detail after.
