Sound:
-In the first clip of my family watching the film, you can hear the opening music, of strings. This plays -along with the key codes and conventions, as 'classical' music is often used in Horror films to convey tension and fear.
-After the clip with the opening music, my family react to a clip containing Diegentic sound of one of the main protagonists, moving boxes around. 7
- In the third clip of the video, you can hear a baby crying. This is another example of a Diegentic sound, and is commonly used in many Horror films.
Characters:
- After the clip of the baby crying, we are introduced to dialogue. this helps introduce the characters and allows you to create bonds with them.
-After the baby crying, the movie shows a family having a conversation. This adds an element of reality, which makes the film scarier, because as a family, you believe it could happen to you too.
Jump scares:
- In the obvious clips, you can see my family jumping at some jump scares in the film. Jump scares play a massive role in Horror films, as most Horror films rely on the jump scares to provoke the terrified reaction from the audience.
