HORROR LOCATIONS

These photos are photos I took from going around and searching for settings where it would be suitable for a horror film. Settings are highly important for the films, as most of the locations reciprocate the tones of the films, often reflecting scary and terrifying places. Typically, horror settings revolve around abandoned establishments, such as abandoned houses, and often there is a sense of isolation to convey the fear to the audience of being alone. Equally, churches and cemeteries cameo frequently in horror films, playing along with the religious undertones and cultural codes of Christianity, and the cemeteries emphasize the elements of supernatural, as the frequent association with the dead is a constant reminder of the theme of most horror films.
