This blog with my video of the day in the life is a response to the revolutionary film making of the Russians. The use of montage is incorporated in the middle of my video, which references the film making techniques of Sergei Eisenstein, who incorporated the use of montage in his film, 'Battleship Potemkin' in the scene of the 'Odessa steps'. I have used the editing techniques of montage and match cuts to illustrate actuality, with the inclusion of music to create a dramatic tone to the video. The early Russian pioneers of film demonstrated editing techniques such as montage and super imposition, which can be evident in the films of 'Dziga Vertov'. I have tried to document real life through editing and camera shots, being as creative as possible.
