I used the process of editing my first draft to help me with editing my second draft in a more efficient way. I created my first draft in a way that structured my documentary editing to make it easier for me to add in footage without disrupting the whole structure of my documentary. In contrast to my first draft, finding music for my second draft proved to be a little more difficult, as I had to find new music that suited both the documentary and the mood. I added in new footage to hide some cuts that were not as smooth in some interviews, so sourcing some new footage required more effort and resourcing. In addition to archived footage, I tried to acquire some new newspaper pictures to add to my documentary, in order to engage with my younger audience. I tried to add some animations to the footage of newspapers to make the photos more interactive, however I faced some challenges with layering. I eventually ended up with editing a collage of my newspaper on a separate editing app which made the newspaper more interactive. My next blog will most likely detail the feedback on my second draft and then I will upload a further third draft.
